1. What are we doing ?
During this session we will work on the theory and basic fundamentals for a successful recall.
Quote - One of the most conversations I have with dog owners is about recall, and my favourite quote from almost every dog owner I have spoken with is “my dog has great recall until……”
2. Motivators and Rewards
The rewards we are giving our dog must be a higher value than the thing they are being distracted by.
In my own case, My Husky Bruno will not work outdoors for food, but a rabbit ball and his attention is all mine.
Ultimately making my rewards more exciting that anything else.
Recall rewards are not something we should be using at home as it loses its value !!!
3. How we will do this ?
We will go back to basics on how to recall your dog.
Starting with on lead long line recall. then moving on to restrained long line recall. Off lead recall. And finally off lead distracted recall.
